Are The Mug Issue mugs microwave-safe?
Yes. All our mugs are made of durable white ceramic and are microwave-safe, so they can be safely placed in the microwave to warm up food or liquid. This applies to both sizes we sell: 11 oz and 15 oz.
How to tell if a mug is microwave safe
The most reliable way is to check what the seller states about the mug. For our mugs you will find it in two places on every product page:
- in the checklist under the buy buttons, where it says microwave-safe
- under care instructions, together with the dishwasher information
If you have a mug from somewhere else and cannot find this information, do not assume it is microwave-safe.
Are the mugs dishwasher-safe too?
Yes. Our mugs are dishwasher-safe as well. You can clean them in the dishwasher or wash them by hand with warm water and dish soap.
Does the print survive the microwave and dishwasher?
The design is printed around the outside of the mug with a smooth finish that doesn't fade and keeps its high color vibrancy. The ceramic itself is lead and BPA-free.
